We chose this Paris Explorer with Trafalgar trip because we wanted a leisurely paced trip that captures all that Paris has to offer and then some. We were not disappointed. From the moment we arrived our tour director, Jonathan, made sure we were well taken care of while also making sure we experienced the true Parisian lifestyle.

I was fortunate enough to partake in Rendezvous On The Seine With Tauck River Cruise. It was an experience that I will never forget.
It started with three nights in Paris, at the Hotel Pullman Paris Tour Eiffel, and as the name might indicate, it is next to the Eiffel Tower. We came in a day earlier than the itinerary called for, to get use to the time change. We ate and people watched at one of the several great cafes in the area after walking along the Seine, which is only a couple of blocks from the hotel. The weather was cool with periods of light rain, but nothing that kept us from getting out. Tip: take water proof shoes, a rain coat, and a travel umbrella when you travel to northern France in the spring.
On the world’s rivers, travelers bend and wind through historic and dramatic landscapes reminiscent of impressionist paintings depicting vineyards, castles lining hilltops and medieval villages from the days of time past.
River cruisers enjoy access to thriving, popular cities like Paris, Vienna, Budapest, Amsterdam and Prague byway of the world’s rivers. But, only on river cruises do travelers have the opportunity to step back into history and experience lesser-known towns and hidden landmarks that most travelers have passed by. Here are the top 5 hidden places to experience along Europe’s rivers.

Visiting Paris (and France in general) was always a dream of mine. Growing up and even through my adult life I had often day dreamed about the City of Lights. I imagined sitting out on a bench reading a book or just people watching with the majestic Eiffel Tower providing some shade for me. I dreamed about exploring the city at night and watching how it transforms as the sun goes down. Because it’s the only way to really know a city, I would do all of this on foot. In my dreams I would walk through every alley and side street so I can truly know Paris. Imagine my excitement when I knew I would be living my dreams with Avalon Waterways on their Normandy Beaches itinerary.
