Having a disability doesn’t have to preclude being able to take a cruise. With a little advanced research and planning, you can take a vacation where you can ensure all your needs are fully met and you won’t miss out on any part of the experience.
Information we’ve collected from experienced travelers suggest certain lines are better than others at accommodating guests with disabilities. Perhaps they have more or better cabins that suit specific needs, or offer a range of services that are not necessary but would be appreciated on a vacation. Depending on your particular needs or preferences, someone else’s favorite cruise line may not be the best cruise line for you. Knowing which cruise lines can make the accommodations you require and how much time you’ll need to prepare in advance will guarantee a smoother vacation experience.
When you hear the name “Disney,” you might think of any number of things. Mickey Mouse, Steamboat Willie, and a number of other classic short cartoons of Walt Disney’s design. You might think of the full-length animated features– from classics like Cinderella and Snow White, to the revival of yearly animated features in the late 1980s and 1990s that produced such critically-acclaimed hits as Beauty and the Beast and Aladdin, to the computer-animated films Disney produced in conjunction with Pixar, like the Toy Story movies and Wall-E. Or you might think of the theme parks, Disneyland in California and Walt Disney World in Florida.

Last Christmas our family celebrated the winter holidays aboard the Disney Magic®. As promised, Disney delivered an unforgettable journey. In fact, our trip began before we even set sail out of Galveston, Texas. My sons, ages 6 and 5, received a phone call from Mickey a day prior to our sailing, which brightened their day and only heightened their anticipation of the cruise. Of course, I strategically planned this call as I preregistered for the cruise. However, it shows just that extra effort that Disney puts into the whole vacation.
