Our next day in Vienna was more rewarding with a nice included tour of the famous city center, including famous St. Stephens Cathedral. Before we left home we had booked tickets for the Spanish Riding School. The famous Lipizzaner stallions and their skilled riders have performed their precision maneuvers and leaps for over 400 years. The horses themselves originated from a breed in Spain and it takes both the stallions and their riders over 6 years of training before they are ready to perform in public This event was definitely worth our $75 ticket!

Prague, the Czech Republic: stop what you’re doing and make plans to go there NOW! I’ve been traveling to Europe for 30+ years, and have visited most of the capital cities more than once. Nothing in my past travel experience prepared me for the wonder of Prague. This is an absolutely magnificent city, top to bottom, start to finish.
Few people know that Prague was the seat of the Holy Roman Empire in the 14th century, when her leader Charles IV ushered in a Golden Age for his Czech subjects, with magnificent building projects (including the most famous landmark in Prague, the Charles Bridge) and the founding of Charles University, the first university in central Europe. Bohemia flourished during this period, and Prague subsequently became known as the “golden city of spires.”
Our lovely Co-Owner of AffordableTours.com, Lucy Fernandez, talks about her recent trip with Tauck World Discovery in her article found in our latest brochure Escape. She visited Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand regaling us with tales of adventure including elephant rides, exotic epicurean delights, and visits to see the most humbling, wondrous ancient structures.
Last year one of our brilliant agents here at AffordableTours.com went on a trip with Tauck to explore America’s terrains. He came back with an amazing recount of his adventures. Read below to see how his trip went!

If you’ve ever wanted to travel to see wondrous landmarks just outside your back door, consider a journey into America’s Canyonlands with Tauck. With lavish accommodations and dining experiences in Phoenix and Las Vegas, plus incredible, iconic natural wonders, this escorted tour is an excellent introduction to the best of the U.S. Southwest.
Our first stop on our 8-day itinerary was Sedona, Arizona, known for its scenic red rock vistas and rich history. This beautiful area has long been an inspiration for artists; we enjoyed its great shopping and restaurants. We ended our first full day of touring at the majestic Grand Canyon. From the top of the North Rim, I enjoyed watching the sun set and seeing the layers of rock change colors before my eyes.
After breakfast overlooking the rim the next morning, our tour group learned how millions of years of weather events created the magical scenery. We boarded our motorcoach to head north through sacred Navajo Indian territory, where our guide explained many Navajo traditions and cultures. By this point, I had taken over 300 photographs! I was able to immediately share my photos online thanks to complimentary wi-fi on our motorcoach.
I was as excited as a kid the night before Christmas. I had never even stepped foot on a cruise ship let alone sailed on one. So when my best friend Dawn and I got the chance to tour the new Carnival Magic ship, we jumped at it! An overnight experience aboard this amazing ship was certain to be a fun event for us.
Driving towards the cruise ship and loading terminal where from a distance I could hold up two fingers sideways and make the ship look only an inch or so tall, I felt my heart thumping because I had heard story after story about how awesome it is on these cruise ships. Yes, I was super excited.Continue reading
