Visiting Paris (and France in general) was always a dream of mine. Growing up and even through my adult life I had often day dreamed about the City of Lights. I imagined sitting out on a bench reading a book or just people watching with the majestic Eiffel Tower providing some shade for me. I dreamed about exploring the city at night and watching how it transforms as the sun goes down. Because it’s the only way to really know a city, I would do all of this on foot. In my dreams I would walk through every alley and side street so I can truly know Paris. Imagine my excitement when I knew I would be living my dreams with Avalon Waterways on their Normandy Beaches itinerary.

My wife and I decided to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary by taking a tour to Hawaii with Trafalgar. We chose the Hawaiian Explorer tour because we liked the fact that it covered the three islands that we were most interested in, and it ended with three nights in Maui with free time.
The Emerald Princess is just that, a jewel within herself. She was birthed in 2007 and is one of the largest cruise ships in the Princess Cruises fleet. She is also one of the most beautiful cruise ships that I have had the opportunity to sail on. Her decks are all very well lighted with beautiful marble flooring.
Have you been thinking about going to the land down under? Well, user lynnkeen from our Travel Message Board, just got back from a Globus tour called Down Under Discovery and was nice enough to write up a very detailed review!

Whether you’re a history buff or just looking for a great adventure out East, this tour will leave you with wonderful memories and great stories to tell.
For starters, I arrived into the “City of Brotherly” happily greeted by my delightful private driver named Paul. He was awaiting my arrival inside the airport, retrieved my luggage and escorted me into our SUV. Along our route from the airport to the Four Seasons, I enjoyed the mix of architecture and waterways. Once settled and refreshed, all the passengers gathered for a 6 PM meet-n-greet dinner to start our “Day 1“. The pre-dinner mixer featured a well stocked open bar and the most delectable Philly Cheese steak Spring Rolls. Then, the evening progressed into a 3 course dinner hosted by our tour director, Beth. Beth did a phenomenal job making everyone feel welcomed and we had a nice round of ice breakers to meet all the other tour guests, particularly those at our table. After a good meal and plenty of laughs, we retired for the evening.
